Curatorial Statement OUT OF THE PUZZLIN’ PUZZLE

We’re living in very troubled times that would affect any portion in our lives. Economical and job crisis, major political changes, new Pope election… a puzzle that is far from composing a clear image in the near future and is really puzzling the world. Like everyone else, the artists can’t help being confused and startled but they can resort to art to slow down, freeze the real and try to find clearer views inside their minds. Or else, to temporarily escape into “other” video worlds to find shelter in. Some of them would just reflect this chaos in the art disguise, an over-confusion that brings order in. Others would need to get back to their own identities and gestures to find something stable. All in all, they pokes in the confusion and enable visions to get some tesseras of the puzzle in their right place, don’t they? Giorgio Fedeli

L’Œil d’Oodaaqs crew of explorers is coming back to Rennes in May in order to share their discoveries with the public! The third Oodaaq festival of poetic images is being held from 16 to 26 May in different places in the city-center of Rennes. The festival creates an artistic itinerary which links different art forms, but also cultural institutions with popular cultural places and public space. The festival seeks to confront the different forms of images in contemporary art.
