Visualcontainer è stata invitata partecipare alla settima edizione di Videoartyearbook come ospite d’onore insieme a Giorgia Lucchi, direttrice della Galleria Boccanera di Trento, co-produttore di questo evento.

Visualcontainer has been invited to take part as partner at fotofever ArtFair in Brussels as the most important Italian Videoart Platform and Distributor. FotoFever is the first european photography art fair settles in brussels from 4 to 7 october 2012 and invites 60 galleries from the whole of europe to present the best of contemporary photographic and video creation.

Visualcontainer will be glad to meet artists, curators, videoart students, artlovers, friends and curious, at VIDEOFEVER Stand – from 4 to 7 October 2012

Curatorial Statement
It’s a renowned fact that videoart language and visual experimentation has fallen out of technology‘s spell.
New surveys and researches have outlined a new way of visual experimentation and a new vision of reality and subconscious. Now, the many-sided investigation fields are assimilated, re-thought and “augmented”.
The video art language is evolving, diversifying and getting contaminated in the same way. The narrative style – usually absent – is returned as a stroboscopic light – where fragments of freeze frames are sketching a new way. The performance have a new communicative potential. New ethics/aesthetics is growing while the reality is inter-sounded, dissected, gathered and mixed with contemporary new media. In the same way, the dreamlike range of videoart creativity has no limits either.
The different audience have a confident approach with screens and megascreens, so it’s easy to be involved within visual suggestions into a sort of a looping “reflection” on images and on this medium.

Invited artists are chosen as a representative group of emerging young operators already known and well-established in the Italian and international contemporary art scene. The videos belong to different categories, ranging from animation to performance, in order to give as a complete view as possible of today’s videoart.

ABOUT FOTOFEVER
fotofever is born from the will to create a platform to promote contemporary photography and video. through a pointed selection each edition carries the values of fotofever: daring, passion, and sharing.

november 2011: 1st edition in paris with 40 gallerie and 11.500 visitors october 2012: 2nd edition launched in the european capital, brussels, with 60 galleries presented in 4 sections: galleries (50), young (10 galleries under 3 years old), video and editors.

fotofever explores the diversity of photography and video art of today while also supporting the young generation and spreading interest among new collectors.

cécile schall, founder and director of fotofever, has an ambition to launch a fair on every continent through making fotofever paris a springboard for its international development.

Visualcontainer è stata invitata come partner dallo staff di fotofever 2012 in qualità di riferimento per la videoarte italiana, conosciuta anche a livello internazionale. Oltre ad uno stand dedicato, è in programma un talk dedicato alla videoarte e alla sperimentazione video dove siamo stati invitati a dare il nostro contributo.

Curatorial Statement
Il linguaggio video e la sperimentazione visiva hanno subito negli ultimi decenni il fascino della tecnologia.
Nuovi scenari e possibilità di indagine si sono aperti ai nostri occhi, così come nuove forme di sperimentazione visiva e un nuovo modo di vedere la realtà e l’immaginario hanno preso piede in una sorta di riflessione su se stessa.
I molteplici ambiti di indagine vengono quindi assimilati e ripensati e “aumentati”. Il linguaggio video si evolve , si differenzia e si contamina allo stesso tempo. La narrazione per lo più assente, ritorna in modo frammentato, come una luce stroboscopica che congela l’attimo e ne delinea il percorso. Le azioni performative si arricchiscono di una realtà aumentata, di nuove possibilità visive e di una nuova forza comunicativa. Una nuova etica/estetica sta nascendo, mentre il reale viene scandagliato, sezionato e riassemblato, mixato con i new media che riflettono sulla contemporaneità, mentre la sfera onirica ha la possibilità di creare panorami fantastici senza limiti.
Lo spettatore ormai abituato a screen e megascreen si avvicina fiducioso e si lascia quindi trasportare in queste riflessioni visive.
