Visualcontainer launches the second edition of the project curated by Alessandra Arnò, dedicated to research and promotion of video art in Italy: PANORAMICA*22
PANORAMICA*22 is a national open call collecting the most original and significant works of experimental video art created in 2022. The selection aims to investigate national production and offer a current perspective on ongoing research, in order to share it with audiences through exhibitions and screenings in national and international circuits, as a result of Italian videographic research.
PANORAMICA*22 /// IRIDESCENT SCENARIOS
The iridescent is variable, mutable and unstable — its perception changes depending on the angle from which it is observed. Iridescent scenarios are therefore elusive, in constant flux, and carry different meanings each time one approaches their comprehension.
The selection of Panoramica*22 underlines this quality: the presented works are in continuous evolution under the viewer’s eye, revealing everyday environments, sites of memory and computational spaces.
The complexity of vision manifests through the relationships between collective historical memories and digital environments, between evolving meta-organic landscapes and computational measurements that seek to establish empathetic connections between the systems considered. In other cases, it expresses itself in interspecies hybridisations that require care to be revealed. Sometimes the vision trembles in anticipation of everyday catastrophe.
The iridescent is kaleidoscopic, multicoloured and fascinating — impossible to stop at first impression alone.
