We are pleased to announce the curatorial selection of the fourth edition of PANORAMICA*24.
PANORAMICA* selects from across Italy the most original and significant video art works created in 2024, in order to promote experimental audiovisual production and offer a current overview of urgent themes and ongoing experimental research. The cultural aim of the project is to collect and share the most significant works with audiences through exhibitions and screenings in national and international circuits, and to disseminate the curatorial selection that contributes to Visualcontainer’s ongoing research into Italian video art since 2008.
PANORAMICA*24 // SUSPENDED DIALOGUES
Narrative and memory are among the themes that emerged from the research of the nine artists selected for the fourth edition of PANORAMICA*. The need to fix a memory, a thought, or to re-perform the past represents for the authors an intimate moment of dialogue — and at times a soliloquy suspended between real contingency and an amniotic unconscious that softens the boundaries between reality and mental space, between analogue and digital worlds, and between the visual and the performative.
