Visualcontainer is invited to take part to a special videoart screening to the CACT – Center of Contemporary Art Ticino, on invite of the Director Mario Casanova and with the curatorial contribute of Pier Giorgio De Pinto.

Transits is born as cultural exchange project with Visualcontainer e the CACT, In this first step the museum will host visualcontainer’s selection and [.BOX] Videoart Project Space based in Milan, will host a videoart selection from the CACT’s videoart archive on May.

The project Transits aims to investigate the idea of transit and of the going through in an personal or collective framework, on different levels (anthropological, psychological, social, geographic…), through a selection of the most recent video works out of the VisualContainer archive.

The heterogeneity of the proposals and languages reflects the multitude of crossings and intersections that are possible to be experimented today for the construction of our daily existence and our identity as individuals and as a group: even in the contemporary world, where spread technology and connectivity are easily multiplied, continuous and unthinkable transits, the concept and the possibility of crossing any kind of territories remains, as it always was, the main condition to unveil and reveal the differences, and to merge them finally into synergy and empathy.
The transits of video talk about all ways we allow ourselves and should also allow in order to join ourselves.
Giorgio Fedeli, 2012

The CACT centre of contemporary art in canton ticino was founded in 1994 to organise international contemporary art exhibitions and to issue thematic publications. When membership was combined with subscriptions to international art magazines in 1996, the result was to provide further incentive to art spaces and museums to work together, while also improving the diffusion of young artists’ output. In 2009, the MACT museo d’arte contemporanea ticino was founded to identify new ways of presenting works from private contemporary art collections.
